Continental Bakeries has a rich history that goes back to the 16th century. In 1593, Jacob Bussink started his bakery in Deventer, specializing in Deventer cake. Various mergers and takeovers over the centuries finally resulted in the current Continental Bakeries. Over time, a combination of family businesses into the strong business of Continental Bakeries.
Between 1952 and 1971, our business was under the former name Hooimeijer and was listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Continental Bakeries was part of NPM Capital NV from 2006-2016. In June 2016 Continental Bakeries was acquired by Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division en Silverfern.
